Lisa Miskovsky
Success had already come to Lisa Miskovsky through her debut album, simply titled, "Lisa Miskovsky", and the single, "Driving one of your cars" which gained her two ’Rock Bears’, one awarded for the Best Swedish Newcomer, and the other for the Best Swedish Female Artist Of The Year (the rock bear is the most influential music award given in Sweden). Lisa Miskovsky could hardly have got off to a better start. Now the time has come for Lisa’s follow up album, "Fallingwater”, which was released in Sweden on the 22nd October. It immediately went in at #1 in the Swedish Album sales chart and has reached PLATINUM sales! The first single from the album entitled, "Lady Stardust", spent nine consecutive weeks at #1 in the Swedish Music Control chart, reached #1 on influential Tracks Chart (national radio P3) and #6 on the Swedish singles sales chart. The 2nd single from the album is "Sing To Me" which peaked on position #2 on both the Swedish Music Control chart as well as in the influential "Tracks" chart (national radio P3).The new songs retain the essence of her original material and establish "Fallingwater" as a progression that is quite simply, more of Miskovsky."Fallingwater" was recorded during four weeks in Kristianopel in the Blekinge region of Sweden. The recording paraphernalia that comprise the studio is housed in an old church, and was used under the direction of producers Joakim Berg, more known as the singer and song writer from swedish band Kent and Simon Nordberg. The aim was to make a record in which the songs and the artist compliment each other. Joakim vas even involved in the composition of many of the 12 songs on the album and also played guitar and sung on for example, ”Back to Stoneberry Road”. Lisa Miskovsky had been in contact with Joakim during the period in which her first album was due to be recorded. However, Kent’s international launch meant a postponement of their eventual collaboration. When Lisa’s new material was ready for the studio, she still felt the desire to collaborate with Mr Berg. The result was a song-writing collaboration and a debut as producer for Jocke. During the recording sessions, Jocke was concerned with being as receptive as possible to Lisa’s ideas and encouraged her to emanate a ’live feel’. The whole process developed into an incredibly rewarding and organic co-operation, with both artists having a deep respect for each other. The relaxed recording environment resulted in "Fallingwater" which takes Lisa to new levels as a musician. She sung the lead and the backing vocals and even arranged the majority of those sections. She also played acoustic and electric guitar, the Piano, organ and the Fender Rhodes on many of the tracks. The backing musicians on the album are Heiki Kiviaho, Jörgen Wall and Martin von Schmalensee together with David Nyström, Lars Halapi and Martin “Nåid” Landquist plus Goran Kajfes and Kent-guitarist Sami Sirviö, who plays electric guitar on "Sing to me" and "Midnight sun".Since her debut in 2001, Lisa has also worked on albums other than her own. She collaborated on the album, "National sånger" (National songs) in 2002 where she sung, "Hanna from Arlöv" together with Christian Kjellvander.Earlier in the year, Lisa could be heard singing another duet together with her childhood friend, Dennis Lyxén. Lisa also wrote the song, ”Alright” that became a hit-single from the album, "Songs About Running Away" with The Lost Patrol, the alias that Dennis Lyxén uses for his solo projects. (He is more well known as the lead vocalist for politically active band International Noise Conspiracy). In the video of "Lady Stardust", directed by Adam Berg, Lisa Miskovsky is seen hanging out with the wolves from the Kolmården zoo. The video can been seen both on Z-TV and MTV, where it was hit-pick of the week on both channels, and the song went directly into first position in the play lists. Earlier this year Lisa Miskovsky was nominated for several Awards and received the following ones:
