Lola Blanc
Lola Blanc is full of surprises. Think colorful, gritty pop - with a cherry on top. This raven-haired singer and songwriter is on a mission to craft mischievous pop music with a dash of girly glamour and a dose of real. Currently in the studio with the world’s top music producers (and a songwriter in her own right, co-penning Britney Spears' forthcoming single from the ‘Smurfs 2’ film, "Ooh La La"), Lola’s fearless attitude and undeniable sass translate directly into her music through her colorful, addictive melodies, honest lyrics, and dark underbelly beats. Her sound is bold and unapologetic, but above all, it’s delivered with a playful, feminine style that defines Lola as an artist. Constantly drawing inspiration for her music from her life experiences, beneath the attitude and eye candy is a real girl whose fascinating personal journey, from puppets to poverty, might surprise you. But Lola faces it all head-on. She explains, “I’m the worst liar. I tried writing what I thought people wanted to hear, but it wasn’t me and I hated it. So I draw from my actual experiences as often as I can, both the fun stuff and the more difficult stuff. My whole life has been so theatrical, and to be honest, the truth is just more fabulous.” Unconventional from the beginning, Lola was born in Germany to a beauty queen/puppeteer mother and a father who worked for the CIA. After leaving Europe, she moved to a farm in Michigan with her family, traveling around as a ventriloquist (true story) alongside her mom and magician brother - all the while pursuing her passion for music by writing songs. After overcoming a whirlwind of unusual obstacles, Lola moved to LA where she hustled her way up, getting handpicked to blog as a taste-maker for pop culture website Buzznet and landing roles in music videos for high-profile artists such as Interpol and LMFAO, among others. It took a lot of hard work, motivation, and determination, but Lola’s fierce artistic vision and infectious songs eventually caught the attention of the leading hit-makers of the music industry, setting her firmly on the path to becoming the next big female breakout artist. Her frenetically infectious forthcoming debut single, "Bad Tattoo," is already gaining attention online, and is set to blow out speakers this summer with its bombastic beats and unapologetic hook. And that, for sure, is no surprise.
