Emmy Curl
Born in 1990 in northeast of Portugal, Emmy Curl grew up in an artistic environment that influenced her in several areas: music, painting and photography. She attended the Conservatory of Vila Real where he studied classical guitar and began her studies in classical singing.At just 15, she composed her first song, “Shadows and Butterflies” and from then on she wrote over 30 original songs.Emmy’s music calls upon the most transcendent and ethereal indie pop, driven by her melodic voice, supported by soft backvocals submerged in reverb, and the buoyant melodies of her guitar. The lyrics written in English relate to personal feelings, human relationships, and love, sometimes real or imaginary. In her own words “Only love is real”.Integrating the newly edited compilation “Novos Talentos 2010” by FNAC, 2nd track, “Seafire and its Waltz” Emmy has already done numerous showcases in several FNACS, and has had her premiere with band on the Delta Tejo Festival on 2ed July, and on the SUDOESTE TMN Festival on the past 6th of August. Those festivals are 2 of the main held in Portugal.In October, she will release an EP with 5 originals, under the label of the mobile phone operator Optimus.Emmy Curl is currently recording what will be her first album, featuring the renowned Mario Barreiros as producer. The album is due to be out in the first quarter of 2011.
