Say Lou Lou
"One of my tips for 2014 fo sho!" -- Rob Da Bank Say Lou Lou are twin sisters Miranda and Elektra Kilbey, who shared a bedroom until they were 16. Resembling a 21st-Century Abba, but without the bearded men, their elegant retro styling has already caught the attention of Vogue magazine, which praised their “Jaclyn Smith-meets-young Meryl Streep” look. But it is their shimmering electro-pop that has won them a place on the Sound Of 2014 longlist. Branded “dream pop” by critics, the sisters describe it as “organic ethereal music landscapes with flowing instruments and vocals”. They’ve mentioned Arcade Fire, TLC and Fleetwood Mac among their influences and have attracted a cult following due to support slots across Europe with Foals and Hurts. Previously known as Saint Lou Lou – they have a rock star pedigree, in the shape of their father, Steve Kilbey from Aussie rock group The Church. They’re currently recording their debut album in London and Los Angeles.
