Neil Sedaka

尼尔·萨达卡(Neil Sedaka),又译尼尔·西达卡、尼尔·沙达卡,是美国著名流行歌手、钢琴家和词曲作者。 在华语地区最为人熟悉的是他1959年演唱的"Oh! Carol、1960年演唱的"Calendar Girl,以及1961年演唱的"Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen"。  Neil Sedaka幼年曾受过8年古典钢琴的训练,毕业于纽约著名的茱丽亚音乐学院,拥有非凡的作曲才华。Neil在高中时曾组过一个团体Tokeus也就是后来以The Lion Sleeps Tonight走红的"Tokeus"。  1958年Neil与他长期合作的作曲家Howard Greenfild写了两首歌Stupid Cupid及Folling,其作曲的才华被RCA赏识,立刻拉入旗下,而Stupid Cupid及Folling也成为1958年Connie Francis的畅销曲。同年11月,Neil才19岁,即开始了他的歌星生涯,第一首推出了The Diary仅有小轰动,1959年的"Oh,Carol"使Neil挤入超级巨星的行列,而1962年的"Breaking Up is Hard To Do才是Neil最受欢迎的畅销歌曲,之后Neil沉寂了一段时期,直到1974年以一首Lauglter in The Rain"复出后,才拾回往日的雄风,75年的"The Immigrant、Bad Blood均是佳曲。  Neil Sedaka (born March 13, 1939) is an American pop/rock singer, pianist, and composer. His career has spanned nearly 55 years, during which time he has sold millions of records as an artist and has written or co-written over 500 songs for himself and other artists, collaborating mostly with lyricists Howard Greenfield and Phil Cody.
